Friedemann Vogel in Rome for Serata Philip Glass

It is always a privilege for a dancer to be part of a creation, and an absolute joy for Friedemann to share the stage again with Paris Opera Ballet étoile and Artistic Director of Rome Opera Ballet Eleonora Abbagnato for this new collaboration with the Rome Opera Ballet. Nuit Blanche, choreographed by French choreographer Sébastien Bertaud and costumes of which are designed by the Christian Dior fashion house, will have its world premiere on 29 March 2019 in Rome as part of a Philip Glass evening.  More Information

Friedemann Vogel for Encens Magazine

Friedemann has always been fascinated by the power of photography to capture the poetry of movement in stillness. Preparing for fashion shoots is not too dissimilar to preparing for a performance; it’s ultimately about channeling emotions through movement, except with a stronger focus on the clothes. Friedemann thoroughly enjoyed this innovative collaboration with the Encens Magazine, for which he wore a range of labels, including Hed Mayner, Ralph Lauren, Kenzo, Emporio Armani, Uma Wang, Comme des Garcons and Issey Miyake.

It was an honour for Friedemann to be featured on the cover of Art Tourist for their latest issue entitled “JOHN” after the iconic choreographer John Cranko who put Stuttgart Ballet on the world map, prompting the culture magazine to cast their spotlight on the Stuttgart-born kammertänzer. In his interview, Friedemann talks about his career, and how performing around the world means the absence of a routine, which has helped keep things fresh for him with every day presenting a new opportunity.
